Electron Microscopy Sciences Variable Size Geological Thin Section Holder, 9.5mm Pin
This thin section holder is made from vacuum grade aluminum with copper clips and brass screws . The unit measures 51x32x8 mm and holds either standard thin sections of 47 x 27 mm or smaller or larger thin sections. Smallest size would be 40x20 mm. The holder comes complete with 2 clips to insure nothing moves. The holder has convenient tweezer inserts which allow for easy loading.

QUANTIFOIL is a perforated support foil with pre-defined hole size, shape and arrangement that has advantages in electron microscopy (EM) or low-energy electron point source (LEEPS) when compared with conventional holey film. QUANTIFOIL with circular holes is used in cryo-electron tomographic reconstruction. The roundness of the holes is advantageous with respect to the formation of an ice layer of constant thickness. A foil with ~1.2 µm circular holes and a spacing of ~1.3 µm between the holes. Smaller holes are designed for magnifications of 50,000x or higher. Grid: Copper. Mesh: 400 .

This mount, made from aluminum features an M4 threaded hole and is 25 mm in diameter. The clips are made from copper. The mount comes complete with a Faraday Cup (2.5 mm x 100nm hole) and a gold/carbon resolution sample 3 mm in diameter is included. The gold particle size range is 5-150nm.
